Time flies when you are having fun?

4 weeks...Well almost. Tuesday will mark one month since I have been down here. It does not seem like it has been a month at all. I have learned a lot since I have been down here, it has been a learning experience. No sales yet, but this week should be a good week. We got some emails out and people tend to respond better when they have stuff in-front of them.

This weekend was pretty fun. After work on Friday most of the people went downtown. It was nice to get out of the office-home place that has been the norm. The biggest struggle for me is adjusting to the life that has slowed down quite a bit. I am used to going non stop and having stuff to do after work so to speak. Now it just seems like work 8-6 come home go to bed and repeat. I have been going to the baseball games that are in town, which I get free tickets so its pretty cheap entertainment, but once the season is over I will have to find something else fun to do.

That is it for now. Feel free to let me know whats on your mind!

Caution Rough Roads Ahead

Its Sunday night time for....Bryce's Blog!!

What a week this was. Tomorrow(Monday) will mark my 3 weeks here...It has been an experience that is for sure. The people I work with are great and I have come closer with them which makes things easier.

This week has been a struggle. A combination of homesickness, terrible luck on the phones at work, some apartment issues, all kind of wrapped up into one giant bad week. But its a new week so we will leave that behind us and start new!

No Sales yet at work, but we are getting closer everyday. Hopefully once we get email addresses and fliers we can email out, the sales will start pouring in! The Chief Marketing Officer for Mandalay Sports came on Friday and talked about some cool things that the Mandalay Sports business was going to do, and have done. For those of you who don't know, the Dayton Dragons broke an all time sell out record of something like 860+ games, and that team is owned by Mandalay. Pretty cool company to work for if you ask me!

This weekend went out with a co-worker and his girlfriend which was a great time. Learned some more about the area. Saturday we went to a lake which is about an hour from here towards Charlotte. We got there, and into the lake swimming area, and 15 minutes later they closed the beach due to a severe storm coming in. So we went to the Dash game instead. Which followed by a great fireworks show! Today, (Sunday) has been a pretty low key day, cleaned up a bit and rearraged my room. Evan is bringing a lot of "homey" stuff back like a microwave, dishes, etc. That will help in making this place feel like home.

College football season kicks of in a little more then a month, cannot wait!!

Hope y'all have a good week!

Bluegrass, and Office

Greetings!

It is Sunday night so time for me to blog about what happened this week.

The week itself was pretty uneventful...No sales to report but we got a lot of good conversations that hopefully will turn into sales. A few people in the office have sold some things but not a whole lot. The owner of our company came into the office on Friday. He is the founder of Blue Rhino, the company that deals with propane and tanks etc. He sold that in 2004 and now is the owner of Primo Water which deals with the big 5 gallons of water. He also owns the minor league baseball team in Winston-Salem.

This past weekend I made the 2 hour drive to visit my aunt and uncle, cousins, and grandparents in Apex, NC and we went to some live bluegrass concert in a city about an hour away from Apex. It was fun and unique atmosphere. We all sat on a big hill and brought our own foods and drinks. It was fun, but I am not sure Bluegrass is my type of music, but it a good relaxing time away from the office and city.

Finally starting to get everything put together in the apartment. It is starting feeling a little like "Home" but still a long way to go.

That's about it for now, if you have any other topic ideas let me know!

It has Begun!!

The job has begun...Making 125 phone calls a day selling the Champs Sports Bowl tickets to business for employee outings or client entertainment. What we do is called consultative sales, and what that means is that we try and come up with ideas that are specific to the business that we are calling on for them to use tickets. It adds another arm of the sales that is kind of fun but challenging.

I moved from the Extended Stay hotel to a duplex that is not far from the office, and it a heck of a lot cheaper then the hotel. It is only 500sq ft but for what we got it for it will work for us. It is more long and narrow but it works. We went a few days with no air conditioning and that was no fun to say the least. Yesterday the landlord brought us some window units, and now its really cold in here! I will take the cold though! We are using the Internet from the guys upstairs, and getting a good deal on that as well. Don't worry we asked if we could and are paying them a little bit. So no dealing with Internet companies or anything like that.

We are in week 2 here and I am enjoying it so far. No complaints and nothing major to write about.

Sunday there will be a new post, since we have Internet now I will be able to access it more.

If you want my address let me know, packages are accepted :)

Day 1

Today drove about 7 hours to Huntington, WV, Home of the Marshal Thundering Herd! I am staying in a decent hotel just off the interstate. The trip was pretty uneventful...ran into a little rain as I was coming into West Virginia. Stopped at an Arbys and had lunch...lunch was pretty good, it was a nice AC break since my truck has no AC in it at present time.

That is about it for now, Next week I will have more to update you all on as I start my job on Tuesday!
